Dear Ancestor,-
Your tombstone stands amongst the rest, neglected and alone
The names and dates are chiselled out on polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care, it is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist, you died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you, in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse entirely not our own

Dear Ancestor, 
The place you filled one hundred years ago
Spreads out amongst the ones you left who would have loved you so,
I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot, and come to visit you.

ABOUT ME
I am a native of Witney Oxfordshire but spent my teens in London, I am an under-graduate of The Open University, retired from military logistics after 32 years, a genealogist for 40+ years and currently Pathwarden Records Administrator (volunteer) in East Lothian Scotland,  and a family man. My wife (Lorna) and I have one daughter (Hannah), a graduate of The University of St Andrews in Scotland and an undergraduate of AAU San Francisco, CA 
Rusty is our dog he's a 10yr old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross, He loves just about everyone, especially the girls but can be a bit intimidating when he launches himself at you like an express train.
